Singing O Canada in school

Religion,I agree should not be promoted in public schools but what anyone would have against the national anthem is beyond me.I would be very interested to know some more back ground on this and why some parents objected to their children singing O Canada each day.

Late calls

This strikes me as kind of funny but then I wasn't woken up ,if I had been I would probably be furious.If it was a liberal this had happened to I wouldn't find it very funny either

Under the circumstances, I don't think getting another phone call would be advisable at this time

I can certainly agree with that ,I can't see how she could even consider sending out another phone call at this point

Morrissy Bridge

I am sad to see the old bridge closed although hopefully it won't be torn down,it would make a very nice walking bridge if it is safe enough for that.I see Fredericton has a walking bridge across their river so I don't see why we couldn't have one in Miramichi as well.I had last crossed the bridge on Wednesday I believe when I went to work but when I went to cross it Friday evening it was closed.

Patrone appointed to board

I didn't even realize he wasn't with CTV anymore,it doesn't seem like that long since I saw him on the news.This doesn't look that good and I think it would be a good idea to have him come before the committee but at the same time a person shouldn't be disqualified from such position for life just because they were involved with a political party at some point or many good people would be excluded.

Bathurst accident

This is a terrible tragedy to lose all these young people who had so much potential and their whole lives ahead of them. I was in shock this morning when I heard the news and will be praying the families,the surviving students and the whole community can find some peace.

Winter storm

Time to sharpen up the snowshoes ,personally I love the winter and the more snow the better but I know lots of people don't share my opinion and will be complaining about the weather today.

Sobeys throws out food near best before date

This is an awful waste to throw out food that isn't gone bad.I can see if it's actually past the best before date but not if it's just close to it.

Live at 5-25 years

Live at 5,one of the shows I watch regularly has been on the air for 25 years.I can remember watch it with my father when I was very young and it was interesting to see many of the people that have been on it over the years appear on the special show tonight.Lennie Gallant one of my favourite singers also performed so I really enjoyed watching it this evening.

Getting methane from old garbage

Harvesting methane from old land fills is a good idea where it is viable,I wonder if there is anywhere this is done in New Brunswick or where it could be done.Hopefully in the future we will be producing less waste and this wont be necessary but until then at least something is being reused from the waste .

Wearing pink

We have been hearing alot lately about the trouble young people can get in and the harm they can cause others but the majority of kids are good.This is a great story about the good young people can do in their communities so here are a couple more stories about it.

Hats from the past

I know my mother's great aunt was a hat maker,this display shows hats worn many years ago and gives us a glimpse in to a different era.

Acadian garden

I would love to see this garden sometime.It's very interesting to me to think that the early Acadian settlers grew some of the things I still grow today.

Peter Coade retires

Peter Coade,CTV Atlantic's weather man for the last 17 years is retiring ,he did his last show tonight.I wish him all the best in his new endeavours but will really miss him giving the weather on Live at 5 and Steve Murphy's news. He was very accurate and always had good predictions.I will find it interesting to see who replaces him hopefully it will be someone just as good.

Cape Jourmain centre

I am glad to see the province stepped into keep the centre open until October.
